When planning their wedding day, Sarah and Peter wanted to focus on what means the most to them: their commitment to one another and being with their people (well, and Pepe the pup who secured a special spot in the wedding party).
These two have quite the story. They’ve had a long journey and helped each other through some tough times, making their relationship even stronger. They are a quiet couple who prefer to not be in the spotlight all the time, but their devotion to one another and unconditional love for each other is very apparent.
Making Their Own Memories
You may notice that some of the typical wedding traditions like the bouquet and garter tosses and cake cutting are are missing from this one, but abundant laughter, love, and authentic moments took their places. They opted for a simple (yet beautiful) outdoor ceremony, a lovely dinner, and lots of partying with their closest family and friends. One of my favorite moments of the day was their intimate first look under a vine-covered pergola. Not only was it romantic, they used it as a time to share their vows privately with one another. As a quieter couple, it was such a sweet time for them before the ceremony and reception. What an honor it was to hear their story and showcase their marriage through photography.
Here’s a peek at their big day. Read on to find out more about the venue and details of the wedding:
A Wedding Among Wildflowers
At The LBJ Wildflower Center is known for its whimsy and splendor, which worked perfectly for this subtle bohemian wedding. Sarah and Peter opted for an outdoor wedding, and the day couldn’t have been more perfect – blue skies all the way! They exchanged vows atop a gorgeous burgundy rug spread out on the lawn beneath the trees. Heavenly Day Events and Zuzu’s Petals did a phenomenal job of pulling the design together with colorful sprays of flowers, greenery, woven wicker tables, and pieces of driftwood. After tying the knot, they celebrated with craft beer and dinner on the stone patio. Then everyone headed inside for an evening of dancing before sending the happy couple off!
