Karalynn and Matt’s wedding at 4.0 Cellars in Fredericksburg, Texas is one I won’t soon forget. This weekend is one I’ve looked forward to ever since I met these two for their Austin Greenbelt Engagement Session last winter and they brought along their sweet pup for a little family photo.
Their love story started at work when a mutual friend just knew they would hit it off, but Karalynn was perfectly content being single, so she laughed it off and went on with her life. One day, Matt asked her to a Spurs (her) v. Rockets (him) game…and when he picked her up, she suddenly realized they were all alone. Not a group thing – a date thing. Once she relaxed into the idea, the conversation (and rivalry) just never ended. After that night, they were together, just like their friend predicted, and earlier this month, they walked down the aisle to start their forever together.
Karalynn and Matt have the kind of love that doesn’t require words – smiles are their language. Watching them watch each other across the room or hold hands talking to different groups of people at the same time, no one could doubt their head-over-heels adoration for each other.
The morning started with the bride and her girls at a house near the venue filled with flowers and wedding details.
Once at 4.0 Cellars, Karalynn took a few minutes with her mom and sister to put on her gorgeous dress. Matt and his guys got ready in a cabin behind the venue! Karalynn sent Matt a sweet note and gift to celebrate their wedding day. Matt sent his to Karalynn before anyone even arrived that morning…her smile when asked what he sent says all anyone would need to know. As the couple waited for their walk down the aisle – the rain clouds started to roll in. We were battling the clock and the weather to fulfill the dream of an outdoor wedding, but it was perfection for these two.
As the storm clouds started rolling in, we managed to grab a few photos of the sweet newlyweds and their closest friends. And then we spent a few minutes in the vineyard watching the clouds and letting these two enjoy their first quiet moments as husband and wife. The reception kicked off just as the rain started to pour. The first dance was cut a little short since the tent was starting to flood and the band had to move… I adore the way Karalynn and Matt handled the whole evening! They rolled with the punches and danced in puddles and cut their cake with a butter knife when they realized their cake cutter was somewhere out in the rain. And the rain continued! But they didn’t even flinch… This is probably my favorite photo of the night – a newly married husband and wife celebrating their marriage no matter the circumstances. Perfect. And the rain let up just in time for a perfect sparkly exit.
