Sparkle – something I’ve lost a bit of & am finally finding again.
I came across this photo today while working on my blog update (coming soon!) and had to stop and post a little about me and my life lately. I’ve officially moved to Austin (but don’t worry if you’ve booked sessions…or are thinking of booking a session…with me in the Houston/Woodlands area…I’ll be back often!) and staying with a friend while my house is on the market (fingers crossed on a rapid sale please!).
I’ve felt this restless impatience and a heaviness I can’t quite place lately…but for the first time in a while, I’m really optimistic about the future and excited about upcoming projects and even creating routines.I’ve embraced the heaviness for a bit, but now it’s time to find my SPARKLE again!
I’m putting this out there for anyone who might be going through the same thing – at some point it’s time to pull yourself out of it by your bootstraps (but by all means, spend a bit of time in the cookie dough, rom-com marathon, pjs all day, ennui of it all…it might show you the root of the problem, but at the very least we all need a good (short) wallow every once in a while). So, to help you take hold of your bootstraps, or just encourage you for the day:
Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful. -Mark Victor Hansen
and one for good measure:
The happiest people don’t have the best of everything, they make the best of everything.
