There’s something about weddings in Austin...the way they balance intention and ease, design and personality, celebration and quiet moments. It’s a place where couples care deeply about how their day feels, not just how it looks.
I’m April, the photographer behind April Mae Creative. I document weddings across Austin and the Texas Hill Country with a focus on presence, connection, and the moments that unfold naturally when you’re fully in it.
My approach is a blend of documentary and editorial. I’ll guide you when needed, but most of the day is about creating space for you to actually experience it, so your photos reflect what it felt like, not just what it looked like.
What it’s like to work together
Most of my couples aren’t looking for a photoshoot all day. They want to spend time with their people, move through the day without feeling rushed, and trust that everything meaningful is being captured as it happens.
That’s why I offer full-day coverage with no hourly limit. There’s no watching the clock or cutting moments short...just space for the day to unfold in a way that feels natural.
I’m there for the big moments, but also the in-between ones:
the way your hands find each other without thinking, the deep breath before walking down the aisle, the energy of the walk back once you’re finally married.

Being based in Austin means I regularly photograph weddings throughout Central Texas, including Dripping Springs, Wimberley, and the surrounding Hill Country.
From open-air venues to historic spaces and modern designs, each location brings its own rhythm to a wedding day. I approach each one with the same intention—documenting it in a way that reflects you, not a template.

I’m based in Austin, Texas, and photograph weddings throughout the Hill Country and beyond. Travel is always welcome.
