Erika & Ben’s wedding day was a family affair – Erika’s mother designed and oversaw the creation of every single centerpiece for the reception, the bride and her sister did bridesmaids hair, family created the flower girl dresses and family friends contributed to every aspect of the day. I wish you could’ve seen behind the scenes – there were Disney sing-a-longs galore, a very unique Starbucks bride cup, a gift of socks to avoid cold feet – though there was no chance of them, laughter, tears and much dancing…but these photos will have to do!
I met Jazz a few years ago when she was the Maid of Honor at her best friend Jessica’s wedding and I jumped at the chance to work with her again and when I met Jazz and DJ for their engagement session – I knew we were a match made in photography heaven.
Their rustic-glam wedding was the perfect mix of the couple…understated and stylish, full of personality and love and time to enjoy the sunset after a family-filled ceremony. Enjoy!
There were so many things about Maddie and Sam’s Wedding Day that I wish I could tell you all about – how the sun and breeze made it a perfect summer day, how her dress was a southern version of a fairy tale come to life…and she was happy to twirl it on the dance floor, that Sam couldn’t stop smiling…not once, how Maddie and her girls played silly games to keep the nerves at bay…exactly what she needed, how their non-look/first-look was one of the sweetest wedding moments I’ve ever witnessed, about the contagious pure joy of the ceremony when Sam finally laid eyes on his beautiful bride and how their family and friends surrounded the couple in prayer and love, about our time chasing the sunset through fields full of mosquitoes (!!), their epic wedding party dance-off, the last dance with the bride and groom alone in the empty reception hall dancing their last dance to a song Maddie wrote and saved just for Sam on their wedding day, how the love shined as bright as the sparklers as they were leaving…I hope these photos will serve as the story. Much love and every possible happiness Maddie & Sam!
While I joined my family at the beach this summer, I had a couple of requests for little family mini-sessions on the beach…so I joined these beautiful families for some gorgeous sunsets and some sand-twirling and more than a few belly laughs! One family is in the midst of saying goodbye to their beach life for a move to the city, and another visited years ago and just never left – here are a few of their moments – one sunset on the beach in July…
I’ve been so exited to post this wedding – probably ever since their engagement session! Carly and Kent were married at Pecan Spring Ranch on a Texas spring day where the weather forecast showed 100% chance of rain, then 20%, then 100%,so everyone watched the sky (and the iPhone weather app) like hawks…everyone, that is, except the bride and groom. The smile never left their faces, even when the thunder boomed and the rain started pouring right before their first look. We found shelter and the rain on the little tin roof was the perfect soundtrack to the moment. The skies cleared just before the ceremony and we were gifted the most beautiful sunset…but I don’t even think they noticed…their eyes never left each other.
